Karaite Judaism derives its laws soley from the "TaNaKh". It is the sole religious authority and we therefore deny any human additions to the word of G*d, such as the Oral law: Devarim 4:2 - "You shall not add to the word which I have commanded you, neither shall you diminish from it..".

Karaite Judaism also rejects the notion that the Rabbis and/or a Rabbanat has the sole authority for interpretering the Bible, as it is the responsibility of every Jew to study the Torah and then decide for him/herself the correct interpretation of G*d's commandments, as we are responisble for our own actions.
